I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in private practice.  I have completed an Externship in Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples and five years of advanced training in Relational Gestalt Psychotherapy at Pacific Gestalt Institute.  I am a board member of the Gestalt Therapy Institute of Los Angeles and a member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, The Group Psychotherapy Association of Southern California and the Los Angeles County Psychological Association.

 I am also a licensed Attorney at Law with experience in business and securities, family law and workers compensation.  If you are involved in the legal system,  I bring a depth of understanding you might not otherwise find in a psychotherapist.  If, for instance, you are involved in divorce proceedings, I can help you maintain a positive attitude, avoiding unnecessary and expensive legal bickering but at the same time dealing from both strength and compassion. 

I have been a psychotherapist, attorney, literary agent and artist.  I have experienced many of life’s joys and disappointments: love, disillusionment, adoption, parenting and letting go, career change and bereavement.  I have learned compassion, non-judgmental acceptance, patience to live with uncertainty, and that information is not the same as wisdom.

I have been married for sixteen years. My wife is also a psychotherapist in private practice.
